Interim hired as search for Grade's successor continues
ITV appoints Interim CEO
The British broadcaster has today (12th October 2009) announced that their current Chief Operating Officer will act as Interim Chief Executive until a successor for Michael Grade is found.
ITV have been looking for a replacement for Grade since April this year, when he announced his intention to step down from his position as Chief Executive. Last month, the broadcaster also announced that Grade would also stand down from his position as Chairman.
John Cresswell, the current COO, will assume the Interim CEO role when ITV appoints a new chairman. Whilst ITV said the process to find a new chairman is underway, two leading candidates for this position (Sir Crispin Davis and Sir Michael Bishop) told the broadcaster than they are not interested.
